What it does
CanvaSync connects one Canva account to any number of WordPress sites. Edit an image in Canva, press send, and it lands in the WordPress media library. No download-then-upload round trip.
How it’s built
- Canva app (TypeScript, Canva Apps SDK) inside the Canva editor, where the user picks a connected site and sends the design.
- WordPress plugin (PHP) that pairs a site with the Canva account and accepts uploads through an authenticated REST endpoint.
- Controller plugin on the product site (wpcanvasync.com) that handles licensing and the central pairing logic.
Interesting bits
- Pairing many sites to one Canva account without asking users to copy API keys around.
- Transfers that are authenticated end to end, so a site only accepts files from the account it was paired with.
